Where Expertise Meets Execution
Nine capabilities, grouped into three pillars, each one built and proven under live cross-border operating conditions, not theory.
Cross-Border Compliance & Controls
Keeping every filing, control and audit trail defensible across every jurisdiction I touch.
Cross-Border Financial Compliance
Navigating overlapping tax compliance, payroll and statutory reporting regimes across multiple countries is where I have built my career. As Head of Finance at Craydel, I directed compliance across operations in five countries spanning the USA, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Zimbabwe, and today I prepare GST/HST filings, T4/T4A reporting and provincial tax compliance for Canadian nonprofit clients at Zivo Financial Services. This means every filing deadline across every jurisdiction I touch gets met on time, without a client ever needing to explain local rules to me twice. Statutory compliance and audit readiness are not a byproduct of my work, they are the standard I hold every engagement to.
Financial Controls & Audit Readiness
Internal controls are only useful if they hold up under scrutiny, and building controls that do is a thread running through every role I have held. At Craydel, I strengthened internal controls, bank reconciliation processes and financial governance across five countries, directly improving audit readiness at group level. At Zivo Financial Services, I standardise accounting processes and documentation for nonprofit clients, closing the gap between day-to-day bookkeeping and audit preparation before an auditor ever asks for it. Clients who work with me are never scrambling to reconstruct records when an audit or donor review lands.
Tax Strategy & Optimisation
Reducing a tax liability legally, across more than one jurisdiction at once, takes structural thinking rather than a single filing. At Craydel, I designed and implemented tax optimisation strategies across multiple jurisdictions, directly improving financial efficiency for the group. I apply the same lens today at Zivo Financial Services, preparing GST/HST filings and coordinating payroll deductions and T4/T4A reporting so nothing is left to guesswork at year-end. Getting tax strategy right protects margin, it is not simply a compliance checkbox.
Remote Finance Operations & Consolidation
Running full-cycle finance functions and multi-country consolidations without an in-country office.
Remote Financial Operations Management
Running a finance function without sitting in the same office, or even the same country, is a discipline I have practised since 2022. At Craydel I managed full-cycle bookkeeping, reporting and reconciliations for teams spread across five countries with no in-country presence, and I now do the same for nonprofit clients at Zivo Financial Services entirely from Nairobi. Distributed teams get the same reporting accuracy and month-end discipline as an in-house finance department, delivered through cloud-based systems rather than a shared building. No client has ever needed to sponsor a visa or manage a desk for me to keep their books straight.
Multi-Currency & Multi-Entity Consolidation
Bringing five countries' worth of financial data into one accurate picture for leadership is a skill built through repetition, not theory. Managing multi-currency financial transactions and cash flow across Craydel's operations in the USA, Kenya, Uganda, Nigeria and Zimbabwe, I consolidated reporting so leadership could see one clear position instead of five disconnected ones. Consolidation, in my experience, is the difference between leadership deciding on assumptions and deciding on numbers they can actually trust. That single clear picture is what I now build for every multi-entity client I take on.
Process Design & Standard Operating Procedures
Undocumented processes are where compliance and institutional knowledge quietly break down, and building the missing documentation has become something of a specialty. At City Eye Hospital, I developed the SOP for NHIF invoicing from scratch, a process that recovered over 10M KES in previously stuck claims. At Digital Divide Data, I wrote the training manual and SOP for a new project the client had never documented, and it was later adopted for training teams the client ran across the globe. When a process does not exist yet, I am comfortable building it rather than waiting for someone else to.
Stewardship, Leadership & Client Trust
Earning the trust donors, teams and clients place in the numbers, and in the person behind them.
Nonprofit & Grant Financial Stewardship
Donor money carries conditions that ordinary bookkeeping does not, which is why nonprofit accounting demands its own discipline. At Zivo Financial Services I manage full-cycle bookkeeping and financial reporting for Canadian nonprofits and charities, keeping records that satisfy both statutory requirements and the grant financial management conditions donors attach to their funding. Earlier, at City Eye Hospital, I built the process that recovered over 10M KES in insurance debts that had sat unclaimed for 6 months, work that depended on the same discipline nonprofit funders expect. Clients get financial governance that survives both a statutory audit and a donor review, not one or the other.
Team Leadership & Operations Management
Leading a finance team spread across five countries requires more than assigning tasks, it requires building consistency into how everyone works. As Head of Finance at Craydel, I trained and mentored finance staff on financial systems, reporting standards and internal procedures, aligning day-to-day operations with the organisation's wider goals. Strengthening cross-functional collaboration mattered as much as the numbers themselves, since a finance function only works when the rest of the organisation trusts it. That is the standard I bring to every team I lead or advise, remote or otherwise.
Client & Stakeholder Relationship Management
Finance work only lands well when the people relying on it trust the person delivering it. At Craydel, I coordinated directly with an external due diligence firm through the company's investment process, removing ambiguity early and building the kind of trust that let due diligence proceed without delay. At Zivo Financial Services, I collaborate with distributed client teams through virtual workflows, keeping every client informed without ever meeting them in person. Whether the stakeholder is a donor, a regulator or a client's leadership team, clear and timely communication is what makes the numbers land.
Fluent In The Systems You Already Run
Comfortable working inside a client's existing stack from day one, no migration required.
